CII- NASSCOM “India-China Business Information” website to commemorate the Prime Minister’s visit to China

To commemorate the visit of Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee to China between 22nd and 26th June 2003, The Confederation of Indian Industry, in association with the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), has prepared a new website on Indo-Chinese business information. This CII Web-site is supported by CCPIT (apex  association of China), the Embassy of India in Beijing and the Consulate General of India, Shanghai.

The website, http://www.indiachina.org, aims to act as a reference point between the two economies by providing a platform to facilitate bilateral trade and investment. It contains information about the various sectors of interest; business related news, economic presentations, journals and latest trade statistics from both the countries.  The Website will be formally launched on 23rd June, 2003 in Beijing at the first meeting of India-China CEO’s Forum being launched by CII.

The Doing Business section on the site provides a business user with useful information about FDI rules, visa rules, Exim policy and important business links required to start a business in both the countries. It also briefs the user about how to set up an office and provides helpful tips on business etiquette followed in both the countries.

In order to facilitate online Business match making an automated business query management application is included on the site. Businesspersons from both the countries can post as well as search for business related offers through this application. Three online business directories are also linked t o the site along with a search facility to look for details about Indian and Chinese companies.

A section highlighting CII’s initiatives to promote business ties between the two countries is also available on the site. It is complimented with an interesting photo gallery. To enable users from both the countries share their views on business related issues, the site includes an online discussion forum too.

The site also acts as a gateway to the India Club, an unique CII initiative in Shanghai, which acts as a one-stop-shop for promoting Sino-Indian bilateral economic and trade co-operation. It is a perennial India pavilion located at the Shanghai Mart where Indian companies can showcase their products and conduct business through unmanned representative offices.
