Joint ventures, investment and action required from Indian and Chinese Business: President CII 

On the occasion of the visit of the 38-member delegation from the CII to China, an impressive session was organized by the Sun Wah Group "China-India Business Cooperation - sharing perspectives on Monday 23rd in Beijing.


The President of the Sun Wah and the members of the CPPCC Mr Jonathan Choi said that India and China had historical and Cultural links in the past but in the current century it is developing another pillar of the link - business. Engaging each other in business conversation would certainly see joint ventures and investment in both India and China.


The session was chaired by the leader of the CII delegation, Mr Anand Mahindra, President, CII and Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Mr Mahindra responded warmly to Mr Choi, stating the many sectors of opportunity existing in India like - pharmaceutical, IT, agriculture etc. He said that the time had come for India and China not to speak just of its complementarities but also action our speech. He saw great possibilities of synergetic growth in business. In the IT sector, the President of CII said that India and China need not look at just being world’s two greatest nations with huge individual skills in IT.

The Session was also addressed by Mr Zhang Xuming, President of the China Centre for Information Industry Development, Dr Fan Gang, Director, National Institute of Economic Research, Mr Zhao Yu Hai, Director General, Ministry of S&T and Dr Jun Ma, Senior economist, Deutsche Bank. The presentations were followed by lively discussions with the visiting Indian delegation raising questions to the eighty plus local businessmen who attended the seminar.
